Bill Cosby Sends Tweet Calling Himself "America's Favorite Dad" & Preaches At Us To Be Good People, LOLz

Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s most notorious & delusional serial rapist…

Bill Cosby came out of the woodwork this weekend with a bizarre Father’s Day Tweet where he called himself “America’s Dad” & reminded us to have a “…renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose —strengthening our families and communities.”

Huh.

Weird flex for a guy who turned the lives of women within his own community into world-altering nightmares.

He paired that Tweet with an old video clip of himself saying the following:

…After slavery was over America kept breaking up the black man’s family, and that’s some awful history to teach. Now if you want to look history right straight in the eye, you’re gonna get a black eye. Because it isn’t important whether a few black heroes got lost or stolen or strayed in America’s history textbooks. What’s important is why they got left out. Now this country has got a psychological history. There was a master race, there was a slave race. And though there isn’t any political slavery anymore, those same old attitudes have hung around. And the ‘burning’ part of ‘burn, baby, burn’ is right here in this classroom.

At that point, the video zooms out of close-up & he’s in a classroom full of fourth grade boys & girls.

To make it worse, he followed it up with another matching tweet with the same video where the message is just hashtags, the last of which made me feel sick to my stomach: #FarFromFinished

#IfYouAreFarFromFinishedWeHaveFailedAsASociety

According to CBS News:

Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt told USA Today in a statement that Cosby requested the message to be sent out on his social media accounts in support of nonprofit group, Man Up.

“Mr. Cosby’s (message) consisted of telling these men who have been incarcerated for many years, but are up for parole soon…to…take the word “disadvantage” and remove the “dis,” and start focusing on the advantage. That advantage is to be better fathers and productive citizens.”

Wow. What a fantastic role model for men of all types.

This move is strange because being a self-righteous preachy asshole when he’s really just a scumbag is what brought his rapey ways back into the spotlight in the first place. It’s what led comedian Hannibal Buress to drag him during a 2014 set that went viral & sparked a way-late but necessary fight for justice:

“Bill Cosby has the fuckin’ smuggest old black man public persona that I hate,” Buress said at the time. “He gets on TV, ‘Pull your pants up black people, I was on TV in the ‘80s! I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom!’ Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches.”

Buress also asked members of the audience to “Google ‘Bill Cosby rape’” when they got home, joking that it would have a whole lot more results than a search for his name, “Hannibal Buress”.

In the following days, the joke went viral, prompting dozens of women to step forward to accuse the star of The Cosby Show of assault.

To me, that he’s still Tweeting out #AmericasFavoriteDad & #FarFromFinished & talking down from a ‘high horse on moral ground’ shows that despite being behind bars, found guilty on multiple counts of aggravated indecent assault, the 81-year old still feels invincible in many ways. I think he truly believes he’ll be out soon, and that when he is, he’ll be embraced by society again.

Going off the responses to his Tweets, & the response to news stories on this, it’s highly doubtful. You’d think a comedian would be able to read the room a little better, but there’s truly nothing funny about this sleeze-ball anymore. This might be a bit much, but right now I would not be upset if he got pudding-popped.
